What is PE Tarpaulin and General Structure

PE laminated tarpaulin fabric, known as Pilsa fabric in the market, is widely used for protection from rain and sun. In addition, solutions are offered with different color options according to your project structures.

PE: Its chemical name is polyethylene, a semi-crystalline thermoplastic material, and PE is a material used in making tarpaulins.

What are the General features of PE?

It is a tarpaulin structure that polyethylene is odorless, non-toxic, feels like wax, has excellent low temperature resistance, good water absorption, good electrical insulation performance, and can be used normally at -70 to -100 Celsius. Chemical stability is quite good.

It is HDPE “High-density polyethylene” structure, which has high usage temperature, hardness, strength and chemical resistance in PE tarpaulin production. It is suitable for hollow blow molding, injection molding and extrusion of various products, such as various glasses, bottles, polyethylene, packaging tapes, and can be used as cable coatings, pipes, profiles, sheets and the like. PE tarpaulin raw material generally refers to PE film and polypropylene woven fabric and colored stripe fabric coated on both sides of PE woven fabric. Usually used as temporary stowage, rainproof and dustproof, not suitable for long-term outdoor use.

What is the difference between PE tarpaulin and PVC tarpaulin?

PVC is actually a kind of vinyl polymer, and its material is a kind of non-crystalline material. Stabilizer, lubricant, auxiliary processing agent, pigment, anti-impact agent and other additives are often added to PVC materials in actual use. PE, with the full name polyethylene, is the simplest polymer organic compound. It is the most widely used polymer material in the world today. It is polymerized from ethylene. According to the different density, it can be divided into high density polyethylene, medium density polyethylene and low density polyethylene.

Features of PVC tarpaulin:

It is non-flammability, high strength, weather resistance and excellent geometric stability. PVC has strong resistance to oxidant, reductant and strong acid. However, it can be corroded by concentrated oxidizing acid such as concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid, and is not suitable for contact with aromatic hydrocarbon and chlorinated hydrocarbon.

Features of PE tarpaulin:

PE is soft and feels waxy. Compared with the same plastic, it is lighter and transparent. When lit, the flame is blue.
