What Is KEDER And General Characteristics

Keder consists of two parts. These are known as core and fabric. The core is made of extruded PVC or another elastic material to allow flexibility. The produced core is then wrapped in Keder fabric, which exposes the fibers from the outside to allow the grief to slide easily into an extrusion with a luff groove Keder trace. There is coating inside to ensure proper adhesion during welding. For maximum strength, a double-coated Keder is available.

Welding Method of Keder Fabric

The method of welding the keder to the fabric depends on the style used. Double flap grief is usually welded using a radio frequency welder because three layers of fabric are welded simultaneously. However, single-cap grout can be welded using wedge welders or hot air welders that only require simple overlap welding. Keder can also be sewn onto fabric.

How to Choose Keder

If you are replacing the keder in a current project, measure the diameter of the existing PVC cable. For new grief projects, check out the rail/frame system that grief slides into. Be sure to order the grief that is slightly smaller than the diameter of the canal. We will be happy to assist you in your choice.

What is keder used for?

Keder is bonded to the fabric to create a permanent waterproof connection between the fabric and the frame. Keder is used in a variety of applications, including both permanent and semi-permanent tents and structures, banners, building wraps, facades, awnings, curtains, and seafood.
